This is Lucy. She’s got right-sided low back pain. I’m just showing her a stretch she can do at home. It’s a rotation stretch through her lumbar spine. She’s lying on her side, she’s brought her right knee up, she’s holding onto her right knee with her left hand. She’s rolled back through the shoulders, stretching her right arm out to her right side to add a bit of a counterforce, - a bit of a weight to add to the stretch.
I want Lucy to lie in this position for half a minute, as often as she can throughout the day, maybe every hour or so. It’s a fantastic stretch, opening up the joints on the right side of her lumbar spine to relieve her right-sided low back pain. So this is a rotation stretch for a right-sided low back pain, 30 seconds, every hour.
